Description

Information:

The Domaine has been located 12 km south of Saumur, in the village of Saint-Just-sur-Dive, since 1934, when the Guiberteau family settled in the same village.
The estate, led by Romain Guiberteau since 1996, produces Saumur appellation wines.
Only two grape varieties are cultivated: Cabernet Franc and Chenin.
The vines are aged from 5 to over 80 years old.
The vineyard covers 17 hectares, in the communes of Bizay, Brézé, Chacé, Montreuil Bellay and Saint-Just-sur-Dive.

Organic Agriculture
The vineyard has been run in Organic Farming since 2003: the soils are worked under the rows and naturally grassed. All synthetic products are prohibited: only sulfur, copper, essential oils and plant decoctions are used.
We harvest our vines manually.

Natural winemaking
Red wines are macerated in vats. Fermentation and aging then continue in stainless steel or wooden vats, or in barrels depending on the vintages (whites and reds).
We only incorporate the minimum amount of sulfur necessary before bottling. There is no addition of yeasts, enzymes or stabilizing products.

Winemaking:

Age of vine: 40-60 year old vines.
Fermentation: Underwent fermentation and maceration for 3-4 weeks in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
Aging: Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new.
