Description

Information:

Fiano has ancient origins that date back to Roman times, a period in which this vine was known as Vitis Apiana due to the sweetness of its grapes which were so appreciated by bees. After the difficult period of the Sixties, in which there was a risk of losing the ancient provincial viticultural heritage, the stubborn action of Antonio Mastroberardino brought Fiano back among the most cultivated vines in the province of Avellino, arousing interest in cultivation even outside the region

The Manocalzati and Montefalcione estates are mainly located on medium-textured and loose soils with an average south-east exposure of 400 m. above sea level The training system is espalier with Guyot pruning with an average planting density of 3,000 stumps/ha and a yield of around 70 q/ha and around 2.3 kg/tump.
