Schlossbockelheimer Felsenberg
Large dry Riesling, very complex, with deep, smoky, flint-influenced crystalline minerality - unmistakably Felsenberg.
The best steep plots around our famous rock tower in the middle of the magnificent Schloßböckelheim Felsenberg. Excellent Riesling terroir with a bottom made of red volcanic hard stone - porphyry and Melaphyr.
The middle near is geologically characterized by volcanic hard rock and soil formations made of gray clay slate. In addition, there are red sandstone in Roxheim and around Bad Kreuznach a wide variety of soils such as calcareous gravel clay or loam with quartzite. From a fund of ten VDP. Large locations, we create the most diverse Riesling characters and can thus express the entire range of the middle proximity. Especially our large plants show their layered character in a very special way every year.
"Huckleberry and bay, grapefruit and pineapple inform a site-typical nose of penetrating pungency that anticipates this wine’s palpably dense, seedily piquant, invigoratingly zesty and tangy palate performance. Buddleia and elder flower lend alluring inner-mouth perfume. Juiciness of honeydew melon emerges accompanied by rind-like crunch and bitterness; but these are balanced by a coolingly green herbal presence, tangy citricity and pineapple core tingle."
