Information:

Domaine Thomson Wines is a family-owned winery based in Central Otago, New Zealand, specifically in the Lowburn sub-region, with additional vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, France. Founded by David Hall-Jones (deceased) and Pui Mun (PM) Chan, the winery embodies a unique “two-hemisphere” vision, producing organic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that express the distinct terroirs of both regions. Established in 2000, the winery is named after David’s great-great-grandfather, John Turnbull Thomson, New Zealand’s first Surveyor General, who mapped Central Otago in the 1850s, naming landmarks like Mount Pisa. The winery’s logo reflects this dual-hemisphere adventure, connecting New Zealand’s rugged landscapes with Burgundy’s historic terroir. Since 2011, Domaine Thomson has been fully organic (BioGro certified) and incorporates biodynamic practices in Central Otago, emphasizing sustainability and terroir-driven wines. Their award-winning cellar door, opened in 2020, won top honors at the 2021 Southern Architecture Awards.
