Description

Information:

Domaine Vincent Carême, founded in 1999 by Vincent and Tania Carême in Vouvray, Loire Valley, is a 16-hectare organic estate renowned for its expressive Chenin Blanc wines. Vincent, a Vouvray native, trained in South Africa before returning to craft wines that highlight the region’s clay-flint and tuffeau soils. Certified organic since 2007, with some biodynamic practices, the domaine emphasizes sustainable viticulture, avoiding synthetic chemicals to promote biodiversity.

Vincent’s low-intervention philosophy prioritizes native yeast fermentation, minimal sulfur, and aging in old 400L oak foudres to preserve fruit purity and terroir. The estate produces a range of Vouvray styles—dry (Sec), semi-sweet (Moelleux), sparkling (Brut), and late-harvest—each showcasing Chenin Blanc’s versatility, with vibrant acidity, minerality, and rich fruit. Notable is the Vouvray Moelleux 2018, balancing honeyed quince and crisp acidity. Vincent also crafts négociant wines, including South African Chenin Blanc.
