Information:

Takahata Winery was founded in 1990 with the aim of creating a winery that tourists can also enjoy. The area between 30 and 50 degrees north and 20 and 40 degrees south is called the "wine belt" among the world's famous wine-producing regions, but our winery is located at 38 degrees north, the same latitude as Napa Valley, a famous wine-producing region in the United States, and Greece, and was built in Takahata Town, where grapes have been grown for over 100 years.

In order to produce wine for Takahata Winery, the Takahata Wine Grape Division was established in 1991 and specialized in growing grapes for wine brewing. We began to seriously cultivate European varieties for wine brewing, and in 1998, our shipping volume exceeded 10 tons, and in 2011, it exceeded 200 tons. After honing our cultivation and brewing techniques, in 2011, our 2008 Takahata Classic Merlot & Cabernet won the gold medal at the Japan Wine Challenge, the first time in Japan for a full-fledged medium-bodied red wine. At the 2013 Domestic Wine Competition, we became the first winery in Yamagata Prefecture to win gold medals simultaneously for two of our wines (Yoshi Sparkling Chardonnay and Takabatake Classic Muscat Berry A Blush).

Wine making:

This wine is made from Pinot Blanc grown in the Kamiwada area of Takahata-machi, and carefully aged in French oak barrels for 12 months! In order to enhance the character of the Pinot Blanc grapes, skin contact is performed at low temperatures, and careful brewing management (while retaining sharp acidity, malolactic fermentation has created a thick, three-dimensional flavor.) has resulted in a wine with a high fruitiness never seen before!

Description:

The aroma of stone fruits such as green apples and pears from the raw grapes, and herbs and white flowers, combined with the body and long aftertaste that spreads multiple times from barrel aging and the toasty aroma, has become an elegant and satisfying white wine.
