Description

Information:

The estate is located in the hills, in the initial part of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, just a few minutes away from the Abbey of Rosazzo. The villa was originally a medieval fortress protecting the streets below. Transformed into a residence by the noble Antonini family in the 17th century, it has been completely renovated and today is the main building of the estate: a villa whose details reveal its centuries-old history.

At the foot of the villa is the Torre Rosazza winery. Today subject to restrictions by the Monuments and Fine Arts Department as the whole villa, the winery has undergone numerous changes over the centuries. Initially used for agricultural storage, it has been dedicated entirely to winemaking since the 1950s, and it has undergone continual technological innovations. In the 1980s we introduced “cold” for the processing of white grapes and, shortly after, with the AltroMerlot project in the 1990s, there has been an increased use of 225-300 liter wooden barrels, smaller than the classic Friuli casks. A complete renovation and the adding of small stainless steel tanks was done in the 2000s, to ensure the best management of the grapes grown and harvested in the ronchi.

Wine making:

After a late August harvest and a soft pressing, the vinification process takes place in white by immediately separating the skins from the musts and it's followed by an alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15-16 °C. Refinement takes place on refined lees for 3 months at least.

Description:

Elegant and crisp white, a great classic that easily fits to all occasions. Its golden reflections are typical of this white produced with copper grapes, a vine that in the Grave region, gives life to juicy, intense, and savory wines.
