Description

Information:

The origin of the wine business dates back to 1930 and was created by Mr. Julien MISSEREY. In 1971, his daughter Chantal and her husband Bernard created the Domaine Bernard CHEZEAUX estate. The family business developed with the marketing of the first bottles. After studying at the Beaune wine school, their son Jérôme joined the family estate in 1987.

The vineyard, with an area of 11 hectares 60, is located exclusively on the Côte de Nuits, particularly in the communes of Premeaux-Prissey, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Vougeot.

Convinced "that a good wine can only be made with good grapes", we are particularly attentive to the cycles of the vine. To protect our vineyard, we apply the principles of sustainable pest management. Since 2021, we have been certified HVE (Exploitation de Haute Valeur Environnementale).

Wine making:

The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand.
We carry out an initial sorting in the vineyard, then on arrival at the vat room on a sorting table. The harvest is 100% destemmed.

A cold maceration is carried out during the first 3-4 days out of the 18 to 21 days of vinification.
Throughout this period, manual punching down and pumping over are carried out.

The malolactic fermentation and aging of the wines are carried out in oak barrels. We use 30% new barrels per appellation.

Bottling takes place after 18 to 24 months of aging in our cellars.

Description:

Vosne-Romanée symbolises elegance above all. Its softness dominates, supported by fairly discreet tannins and a slightly marked acidity. These fleshy wines, with very good persistence, are very aromatic, their typicality highlighting aromas of cherry, strawberry and undergrowth.
